I graduated from Hygiene School in 1995 from Pierce College. I got my start in dentistry by working at a dental office in high school, doing sterilization and helping around the office.
Since graduation, I have had some wonderful working opportunities; including working for a Periodontist for several years. One of the highlights so far in my career has been volunteering at the Pt. Defiance Zoo cleaning the animal’s teeth!
I have worked in this practice for over a decade and the best part of my job is the interesting and wonderful patients I get to meet. I love the people I work with and I feel proud of the outstanding quality of dentistry that Gig Harbor dentist, Dr. Rioux provides.

I graduated from the Dental Assisting Program from Clover Park Technical College in 1992. I always wanted to work in the health industry and chose the dental profession because it would allow me to meet new people, help others learn about the importance of dental health, and build lasting relationships with patients. I try to make each and every experience a positive one for my patients.
I enjoy every aspect of my job; especially the group of women that I work with. We’ve all known each other for a long time and they are very much like a second family. Dr. Rioux and the girls make coming to work an enjoyable thing!

I chose the dental profession because it gave me the opportunity to care for people. I felt it would be a great career to raise a family in the future.
I attended dental assisting school in 1983 at Clover Park Vocational College. I continued expanding my knowledge of dentistry while working with dentists who specialized in all areas of dentistry. I continue to take educational classes to stay current with the ever-changing dental advancements.
It’s a gift to come to work and be with a group of wonderful, caring and fun ladies. Most of us have been together for many years and we are family. I think many of our patients share this experience.
Our office is outstanding at keeping up with the latest technologies and products and I’m very proud to be part of it.
The reason I started in dentistry was to care for the patient. I truly believe in providing a warm, caring environment with exceptional, quality dental treatment. My reward and why I love it is to see the change, growth and personal relationship developed with each person.

I became interested in dentistry back in 1995. I researched which profession in dentistry would be the best fit for me. After trying out hygiene for a year at the University of Hawaii, I realized that working in dental administration was perfect! I get to help people navigate the sometimes confusing world of dental benefits and work as a team with patients to help them achieve their perfect smile!
I enjoy the feeling of being part of the family here at Dr. Rioux’s dental office, meeting our patients and getting to know their families. I like making people feel welcome and comfortable in our warm and friendly practice and providing the service that really sets us apart from other dental offices. I love seeing how happy our patients are when they finish up with our team at the end of an appointment.
In 2008 I was working as a dental office manager in California but I grew up in Gig Harbor so I was excited to return home.
I like spending time with my husband Jim and our daughter Lucia (who is looking forward to her new sibling later this summer!). Our family loves to spend time near the water, boating, or just hanging out in our beautiful Pacific Northwest paradise!

My career in dentistry started as a student at the University of New England, Portland, Maine from 2004-2007. I have always had a passion for the health sciences and wanted to be part of a highly specialized and focused area of healthcare.
The best part about being a member of the Rioux team is not just the fact that the office provides stellar services, but for me, the genuinely warm and caring atmosphere experienced by patients and staff alike. This is what makes this practice as phenomenal as it is.
The part of dentistry I love the most is the energetic and ever–evolving pace of the industry. Seeing new faces and new cases every day helps keep work fresh and interesting.

I started in dentistry many years ago as a certified dental assistant. As my career developed I became interested in the administrative side of dentistry. I found that I really enjoyed it and was able to integrate my knowledge from the “back” of the office to the front to really help my patients maximize their experience here: both with the dentistry as well as any help they needed with scheduling and insurance questions.
What I love about being in this office starts with Dr. Rioux. I love her openness and positive attitude. The team has made me feel comfortable and welcome from the very beginning. I feel wanted and fully appreciated for what I do. This is a really family oriented office so I love meeting our patients and their families. We all have the same goal in mind and strive for the same outcome for our patients: always coming away with a positive experience knowing we’ve done everything possible to meet and exceed their expectations for a great, healthy smile.
I love spending time with my family, particularly at the ocean. I really enjoy heading to the Oregon coast with my kids and grand kids. During my quiet times I love to read and do crossword puzzles and head to the movies.
